PLEASANT DISCOVERY
My morning walks always reveal something to me that I had not noticed before.
Lately, I have noticed how pretty the flower bed under our Village sign on the corner of 56th and Lindstrom is. For all the twenty-some summers that I have lived in the Village, that flower bed has always been empty, sad and brown throughout the summer. Betty Carlson was not here to attend it and carry water to it. But this year it is bright and lush.
With just one telephone call to Minnie Jo, I discovered that the Landscapers had run a water line to that bed, unbeknownst to me. Jut like magic, we now have a self tended, pleasant flower bed at our complex entryway, winter and summer.
