CUPID VISITS THE VILLAGE
In the event that you had your ears tuned towards Des Moines, Iowa, on
October 13, 2012, you may have heard the tinkling of wedding bells, as
Evelyn Joan Libby, and Andrew James Arnot exchanged marriage vows.
The ceremony took place in the Bloomfield United Methodist Church.
"Matchmaker" Mike Halvorson was best man, while Evelyn's life long friend
Peg was matron of honor.
Both Evelyn and Andy had been widowed some years ago, and met here in the
Village at one of our famous parties. Mike the Matchmaker took matters
into his own hands and encouraged the relationship.
It was a beautiful wedding as Evelyn was escorted down the aisle by her
three handsome sons, David, John and Greg Libby, while daughter in
law Ann played the wedding march. Granddaughter, Alexa was the dainty
little flower girl, while another granddaughter Kara, played the piano
and sang beautifully during the ceremony.
Andy hails from Winepeg, Canada, and so at this time the newlyweds are
visiting there. They did take the time to come here for a few days and
were able to attend Saturday coffee. The smile on Evelyn's face, as she
went around the room introducing her new husband, was the kind no amount
of upset could erase. We understand they will return by New Years Eve.
We, the extended family, of the new Mr. and Mrs. Arnot, wish them many,
many years of happily wedded bliss.
