HERE'S TO THE WEEKS !
A couple who were goners from the start.
She only meant to steal his wallet,
But instead she stole his heart!

Because they thought the couple in this picture reminded them of us, our lifelong friends, Rachel and Don Taylor, from Durand, Michigan, sent it to us for our anniversary. Now 62 years later, we look more like the couple, than we did on September 11, 1948, when we spoke our vows in St. Paul's Catholic Church, Owosso, Michigan.

Sixty-three years of marriage have been kind to us. Though we had a few 911 calls, we also had many years of good health and happiness. With the birth of four daughters, Judy Miracle, Dingena Prosser, Cynthia Buffmyer and Patsy Anderson, the good Lord saw fit to call our family complete. Now we have four wonderful sons-in-law, twenty living grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren, with two more grandkids on the way.

Roger spent the greater part of his career as a Design Engineer for G.M. while I was a stay-at-home Mom. I was happy with this arrangement, as I got to take the car any day I wished. Our siblings lived within a fifty mile radius, so we spent much of our free time with them.

We came to the Village at Apache Wells in October, 1994, where we rented from the Hughes, and purchased #A-3 before we returned home in the Spring.

It was easy to fall in love with the people of the Village, who treated us like family. In January, 2001, we purchased #64 and rented our one bedroom unit to Peggy Bonin. She has been with us ever since, and we cherish her friendship.

A dream of Roger's was to be a ball player, and upon our moving to Arizona,in the Village he joined the Red Apache Wells softball team, managed by Romey Schultz. He was an active player, holding the position of pitcher until he turned eighty years old. He then retired to become an inactive player, but by no means out of the softball program. He has been an announcer for many of the games here at Muellers Field, as well as being the gopher for all the teams. I sometimes compete with his love for the game, but know he is in his glory when he jumps on his golf cart and heads for the field.

Life has been very good to us. When we celebrated our 50th. anniversary, my brother Ted remarked, "You have done such a good job in fifty years, you may as well try for seventy five." So, with the help of the Lord, and all our good friends and family, we are aiming towards that goal.
