Eighteen hale and hearty year rounders gathered on Thursday night,September 29th. to usher out the Summer and usher in the Fall season.
We feasted on barbecued spareribs, potato salad, baked beans, Cole slaw, crispy dill pickles, rolls, and ice cream cups. Needless to say, we all ate our fill and then some. The only thing missing was some music, though we are confident our snowbirds will bring that to the winter entertainment.
It felt good having Earl and Donna Norton with us as they began their life as year rounders, after a traumatic summer and relocation to our complex. Though they have had a rough year, we assure them that all will be peaches and cream from now on. They have a story to tell that could fill a book on their sale of their home, and their trip here. Perhaps we will need to write a book on the transition of moving to Arizona, and the benefits that can be experienced after all is said and done.
Now we look forward to the Fall season, the arrival of all our winter residents, and the good times ahead. Be sure to bring your fixens for your costumes for the winter parties. Suspenders, here and there a belt and a hard hat, and you have the costume fit for any party. Roger and I have ours nearly all assembled. We look forward to seeing your creations.
